AccordHotels, the MGallery hotel brand, has announced the opening of its second hotel in Dubai. As a result of rebranding, it will become The Canvas Hotel in the Port Rashid area.
The upscale hotel will have 164 rooms and suites, a 24-hour restaurant, three lounges, Signature Indian Restaurant by world-famous chef Sanjeev Kapoor, and a spa.
Mirko Yada, general manager of the hotel, said: “We are delighted to open the Canvas Hotel Dubai MGallery by Sofitel. It is one of the few five-star hotels in Bur Dubai and we are actively working to fill it with the spirit of MGallery by Sofitel, offering guests excellent level of service and comfort. "
He added that it would take six months to upgrade the hotel.
Under the MGallery brand, there are more than 90 hotels in more than 25 countries around the world, including prestigious properties such as Hotel Molitor Paris MGallery, Le Grand Hotel Cabourg MGallery, Santa Teresa Hotel Rio de Janeiro MGallery, Hotel des Arts Saigon MGallery.
The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery last year became the first brand establishment in the Middle East, as well as the first such health resort in the region.
AccorHotels operates 46 properties in the UAE. Another 27 projects are under development.
