New Cruise Terminal Opens in Dubai

The new cruise terminal, built in just four and a half months and opened with fanfare at the end of February 2010, will become a strategic target for servicing cruise ship tourists, the number of which has grown from 2000 from 6,900 to 325,000 people expected this year.

The opening of the new terminal, which Dubai spent tens of millions of dollars of budgetary funds on, took place in parallel with the presentation of the new Deliziosa liner from the Italian cruise company Costa, which was the first to anchor at the terminal located in the Dubai port of Rashid.

Officially named the Dubai Cruise Terminal, the new terminal is made in a traditional Arabic architectural style. Inside the terminal there is everything that is necessary for the efficient service of tourists, including customs, shops, information kiosks, lounges. The total area of ​​the new terminal is 3450 square meters. m

The new terminal was built very quickly - in just four and a half months, which, according to representatives of the Dubai municipality, indicates Dubai’s commitment to the development of cruise tourism.
