MASERATI GranTurismo Sport

"AL TAYER MOTORS" PRESENTED A NEW "MASERATI GRANTURISMO SPORT" MODEL IN THE ARAB EMIRATES. IN NEW - MORE POWER, MORE ACCELERATION AND MORE SPACIOUS INTERIOR.

The elegant style of the GranTurismo Sport model is organically combined with its sporty nature and superior performance. An enhanced version of the GranTurismo S and GranTurismo S Automatic, the GranTurismo Sport offers access to a range of technical details that complement its sporty features, both inside and out.

Leaving the headlights unchanged, Maserati provided them with new lighting technology including the LED daylight system. The latest improved Maserati 4.7-liter V8 engine with 338 kW (460 hp) allows the GranTurismo Sport to reach 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds and reach 300 f / h. GranTurismo Sport is available as with with a six-speed automatic transmission, and with a six-speed robotic gearbox with a double-disc dry clutch, it is equipped with Sport Skyhook suspension, which is an evolution of the system of continuous monitoring of shock absorbers, and double cast brakes for the fastest stop. Situated between the GranTurismo and GranTurismo MC models, it occupies the middle of the GranTurismo lineup. With a robotic gearbox, the GranTurismo Sport is capable of picking up speed of 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds. This is 0.2 seconds faster than the GranTurismo S. The top speed mark also increased to 300 km / h, reaching the speed of super-powerful sports cars. With an automatic transmission, the GranTurismo Sport can reach 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds. Again, this is a 0.2 second improvement over the GranTurismo S automatic model. It is also better than its predecessor, reaching a speed of 298 km / h.

Dry Double Clutch Robotic Gearbox (MC Shift)

Following the traditional design, the robotic gearbox is integral with the rear axle and differential and is connected to the engine through a cardan shaft. A six-speed gearbox is docked to the engine via a steel 20mm driveshaft supported by four internal bearings. It uses a two-disc dry clutch with a diameter of 215 mm and a three-cone synchronizer in the first two gears and a two-cone synchronizer in all other gears. The hydraulic gearshift mechanism is controlled by an electronic lever integrated into the steering column.

Torque is supplied to the wheels by means of an asymmetric limited slip differential, supplemented by a locking system of 25% during acceleration and 45% during deceleration.

The gearbox position in front of the rear axle gives the GranTurismo Sport a front-wheel-drive weight distribution of 47:53.

Automatic Transmission (MC Auto Shift)

The six-speed automatic transmission, based on the gearbox of the Quattroporte Sport GT S, has been improved to get the most out of the V8 engine. Unlike robotic gearboxes, an automatic transmission connects directly to the engine and transmits torque to the same limited slip differential via a 69 mm diameter two-section steel drive shaft. This is a gearbox with a wide range of features that have already proven themselves in other Maserati models, including five available modes. You can choose the appropriate driving mode - automatic, automatic sports, manual, manual sports and ice driving.

In manual mode, the driver controls the gearshift using the gearshift lever on the steering column, and the car holds each gear until a signal is received from the driver. In manual normal mode, the driver can reach the red line of the tachometer, while switching speed does not occur, even if the engine reaches the maximum speed. When choosing a sport mode, GranTurismo Sport offers super-fast mode MC Auto Shiftdeveloped on the basis of the Quattroporte Sport GT S and able to accelerate the shift time by 50%. This mode enables automatic sound notification when shifting to a lower gear together with a launch control system called MC Start Strategy (only works when MSP is off).

Using MC Start Strategy, drivers should hold the brake pedal and depress the accelerator until the engine reaches the optimum torque (between 2300-2500 rpm) and release the brake pedal. When using the quick start system, GranTurismo Sport can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds.

The GranTurismo Sport model continues to use a two-piece system with light alloy wheels made of cast iron and aluminum, which reduces the weight of the structure by at least 15 percent. The discs themselves, having perforation and notches, are combined with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston rear. The color of the calipers is a completely new “oxidized” blue, which, thanks to the matte finish, emphasizes the ultra-sportiness of the car.
