UAE and Belarus work on visa facilitation options

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus are exploring the possibility of simplifying the visa regime. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Valentin Rybakov. “We are working on ways to simplify the visa regime for Belarusian citizens, emphasizing our readiness for oncoming traffic in this direction,” he said. The first step in this direction should be an agreement on visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports, which is planned to be signed this year. Valentin Rybakov noted that the UAE is the main trading partner of Belarus among the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf. The mutual trade balance for Belarus is stably positive, and the total export of goods and services (chemical products, potash fertilizers, bearings, transport and technical services) to the UAE in 2012 reached almost US $ 50 million, exceeding the 2011 level by more than a third
