PEGAS ART GALLERY - A YOUNG ARTISTIC INITIATIVE, STATING ABOUT MYSELF IN DUBAI FOR MUCH MORE THAN A YEAR BACK. AT THE BEGINNING, IT IS POSSIBLE TO SUGGEST THAT THIS IS ANOTHER GALLERY OF ARTS ACCEPTING TO THE COMMISSION OF WORK OF UNKNOWN MODERN ARTISTS. HOWEVER, PEGAS ART GALLERY HAS ANY OTHER PLAN - TO BECOME A UNIFIED CULTURAL HUB FOR RUSSIAN ART FROM THE WORLD AND DISCOVER THE INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE ALL ITS UNIQUE DIVERSITY.

According to the legend, the winged horse pegasus with the blow of the hoof on the ground could knock out water sources. ARISING ON THE SHINY TOPS OF OLYMPUS, HE BECAME A SYMBOL OF COMMUNICATION OF ALL LIVING BETWEEN HIMSELF

Of course, to implement such grandiose plans, not only significant investments are required, but also a huge amount of creative energy. Knowing who is at the origins of the Pegas Art Gallery, there is no doubt in his success. Dr. Dinara Rakhimbaeva is a successful Dubai business woman, known to our readers as a unique horse breeder. It was she who at one time opened the way for Russian horses and their owners to the Meydan Racecourse and to the Dubai World Cup, the most prestigious and expensive World Cup in horse racing (see article "On Passion for Horses" in No. 55 of Russian Emirates magazine ").

Now we have learned more about her: over the years, Dr. Dinara has been collecting works of art around the world. And in May 2013, the hobby took on the shape of a new company created jointly with partners - entrepreneur Olena Volkova and the artist Omar Salam. Today, in the collection of Dr. Dinara, there are more than 20 masterpieces: from the brilliant classic Pablo Picasso to our contemporary Nurlan Bazhirov. By the way, it was from the personal exhibition of one of the most popular artists of Kazakhstan that the success story of the Pegas Art Gallery in Dubai began.

Horses of my soul

The graphic exhibition "Kazakh warriors are the horses of my soul" was presented in November 2013 at the fashionable Armani hotel of the tallest building in the world and the iconic symbol of Dubai, Burj Kalifa. The exhibition was held jointly with the Swiss Art Gate UAE cultural center under the patronage of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Animalistic, inspired by the myths of their native land, the works of Nurlan Bazhirov, made by kardash and coal, adorn the residences of the national leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia. The element of the author is batyrs and severe nomads, grace and power of horses in movement and battle, dynamic scenes of horse racing and severe fights in interesting details and original angles.

Of course, the romance of the nomadic life and the scale of creations could not but interest the emirate public, and the exhibition in the emirate, where the theme of horse racing and horses was built into a real cult, was a great success.

Love for my motherland

The second truly secular event of the first season of Pegas Art Gallery was an exhibition of works by Ukrainian artist Svetlana Osobik, who has lived in Dubai for many years. The exhibition, entitled "Love and Culture", owned by the Kataria Art Collections fund, included 40 paintings at once. The magnificent paintings “Chumaki”, “Katerina”, “Cossack Mamai”, “Night at Christmas”, “Forest Song” occupied the whole hall of the famous Meydan Hotel. The leitmotif of the exhibition, as you might guess, is the artist’s soulful love for her homeland, which is going through difficult times today. The subjects of the paintings are inspired by rich Ukrainian mythology, deep traditions, diverse oral folk art, and fiction. They contain a lot of details, deep philosophical meaning and poetry - all that came to life of the master with his own experience and impressions. Exhibitions of artists from the countries of the former Soviet Union, which today develop in completely different ways, but keep their roots and do not lose their national color, - not just a desire to talk about how rich our talents are in our land.

This is the first step towards the opening of a center of Russian culture in Dubai, which over the past few years they have been trying to create in the Emirates. “Already next fall, the Pegas Art Gallery will stop the nomadic lifestyle and will have a permanent residence permit: two new floors of the Meydan Racecourse will be occupied by a new cultural center that can accommodate up to a thousand people. The project is grandiose and unique for Dubai. We will not only hold exhibitions, but also receive official delegations from all the CIS countries. Visitors to the Dubai World Cup will also be able to learn about the cultural wealth and achievements of these countries, "says Dr. Dinara. The plans of the Pegas Art Gallery include organizing exhibitions of paintings, drawings and sculptures, holding fashion shows of Russian fashion designers, implementing charity initiatives, and most importantly, collecting Russian art objects around the world and returning them to museum collections in Russia. “Everything that you saw this year is only the beginning of a long journey,” Dinara Rakhimbayeva assured us.
