Over 12 million guests will visit Dubai in 2014

Dubai was the only city in the region to be among the five most beloved tourists in the world according to MasterCard. In fifth place, Dubai was ahead of New York and a number of traditional tourist cities in Europe. In the first place in the ranking is London, followed by Bangkok, Paris and Singapore. MasterCarc compiles its annual Global Destination Cities Index using data on the movements of payment card holders from 100 countries.

About 12 million tourists will visit Dubai this year, which is 7.5% more than last year. Such rapid growth allowed Dubai to bypass New York and Istanbul, which in the last year’s ranking were higher than Dubai. Dubai is the leader in the average number of nights spent by tourists and in the amount of expenses of tourists in terms of one resident - US $ 3863. Dubai takes the fourth place in terms of direct flights to the world. According to MasterCard, overseas tourism in recent years has been growing faster than world GDP, which indicates the desire of people from different countries to travel and discover new cultural discoveries. Among international tourists, an increasing number are residents of developing countries, to whom the growing well-being of the population now provides an opportunity to see the world.
