Announced the date of cancellation of visas to Russia for UAE citizens

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the entry into force of the Agreement between the governments of Russia and the UAE on the mutual abolition of visa requirements.

On February 17, 2019, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on the mutual cancellation of visa requirements for citizens of the two countries, signed in Kazan on July 6, 2018, comes into force.

In accordance with the Agreement, citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the United Arab Emirates who hold all types of valid passports, do not intend to work, study or reside in the territory of another state, are exempted from visa requirements and have the right to enter, stay or follow in transit through the territory of another state without visas for a period of up to 90 days for each period of 180 days.

Recall that the Russians received the right to apply for an entry visa to the UAE “upon arrival” back in 2017, when His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, approved Decree 24 of 2017.
