In the UAE, scammers attack job seekers through Whatsapp

A new scam on the Internet is aimed at people who are looking for work in the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE Telecommunications Authority (TRA) this week warned residents of the country about the dangers of fraudulent messages on WhatsApp. They are aimed primarily at people looking for work. The purpose of the attack is to steal the victims ’personal information.

Fraudsters send a message in the messenger, in which they promise to work with a high salary. By clicking on the link, victims transmit confidential information to attackers. This could lead to the theft of your WhatsApp account or other adverse consequences. At the disposal of fraudsters in this way may be personal photographs of the victims or even financial information.

In other cases, reported by residents of the UAE, WhatsApp messages contain information about a criminal case that was allegedly brought against the recipients. They are invited to familiarize themselves with the details on the link, the transition through which also bodes trouble.
