New visa requirements come into effect in the UAE on October 21

The new visa system began to function in the UAE on October 21.

Dubai, UAE. The new visa system began to operate in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, October 21, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship of the UAE (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, FAIC).

Under the new rules, visas for widows and divorced women with children are extended for one year (from the date of the death of the spouse or the registration of a divorce). In addition, they no longer need a sponsor to apply for a new visa. Previously, widows and divorced women were required to leave the country after losing their spouse or in the event of a divorce.

In addition, students will receive one-year visas after graduation from Grade 12, as well as university graduates. A one-year visa can subsequently be extended for another year. Parents will be required to pay a deposit of AED 5,000 for their children (US $ 1,370).

Holders of a guest visa (visit visa) will now be able to extend it by 30 days, while in the country. Each renewal will cost 600 dirhams (US $ 165). Previously, “guests” had to fly out of the country after 90 days staying on guest visas or 30 days staying on tourist visas.
