The family of a missing diver in the UAE requires further searches

Close divers who disappeared off the coast of the emirate of Fujairah, which is part of the UAE, require further searches.

The family of a diver who disappeared two months ago off the coast of Al Fujairah requested the police to conduct an additional investigation after his camera was discovered at the scene.

Sultan Sabha, a 40-year-old native of Jordan, went missing on April 15 after diving to a depth of 110 meters, about 46 kilometers off the coast of the Emirate of Fujairah.

A certified diver with over 22 years of experience, Sultan and his friend plunged into a sunken submarine from World War II.

"According to police reports, after 18 minutes of diving, they began to climb up, but the Sultan’s camera got entangled in the cable and he went down to get it," said Sultan’s Diaa Sabha.

The brother emphasized that Sultan is an experienced diver who knew how to behave in such emergency situations.

"Sultan is a certified diver who dives almost every week, he trains people himself, knows everything about diving and loves this activity very much. My brother is an expert with enough experience not to save in any situation. I don’t know what happened, the authorities do not share any information with us, "Diaa emphasized.

The friends and family of the Sultan, including his mother, wife, four brothers and sisters, believe that he is still alive and await his return.

"His disappearance shocked us all, we pray and hope that he will return or call and say that he is all right and that he is diving elsewhere," Diaa said.

The sultan moved to the UAE from Jordan 18 years ago, got a job as a travel agent, today the Jordanian has his own agency in Dubai.

Diaa, who lives in Jordan, said that three days before his disappearance, the Sultan invited him to his place and said that he plans to go to South Africa to immerse himself in Boesmansgat, one of the deepest freshwater caves in the world, where three had previously died. person.

"He always said that diving helps him to remain relaxed and calm, that when he dives, he forgets everything, and this pushes him to explore new places that no one has ever been to," said Diaa.
