Abu Dhabi launches mobile veterinarian for abandoned animals

In the United Arab Emirates, they plan to launch the first mobile clinic for the treatment of abandoned animals on the streets of Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Susan Ailott, founder of Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi (AWAD), along with his team, is working to launch the first UAE mobile veterinary clinic to treat abandoned animals on the streets of Abu Dhabi.

On Friday, the AWAD team made their second trip to Lulu Island. The team included licensed veterinarians and AWAD certified catchers who transported equipment and medical supplies to the island by boat.

In 2017, Awad became the first organization in the UAE to set up a “field hospital” for animal care.

In just two hours of work, the team managed not only to sterilize 14 cats on the island, but also to cure them, and even provide them with dental care. The team will continue to travel to a remote island.

"The cats were released at the same place where we took them. They are all healthy now," Susan said.
