In the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, improvised housing is demolished

The municipality of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah frees up space for new projects from improvised housing.

The municipality of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, has demolished 15 makeshift homes in different areas to make way for ongoing infrastructure projects.

According to a senior official, the municipality communicated with the owners of these dwellings on the subject of financial compensation.

Munzir bin Shukr Al Zaabi, the general manager of the municipality, said some of these houses are hampering new road projects.

Experts previously studied the entire region and outlined all the impromptu housing that needs to be demolished.

"We contacted the owners of these makeshift homes, especially in the areas of Al Hamraniya, Sawan, Wadi Al Qoor, Al Rifaa and Dheit South," he said.
