An intergovernmental meeting between Russia and the UAE will be held in Abu Dhabi

The meeting of the Russian-Emirate Intergovernmental Commission will be held in late November.

Dubai, UAE. The seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Emirate Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation is scheduled to be held on November 25-27, 2017 in Abu Dhabi under the leadership of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting of the Commission, it is planned to discuss topical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, transport, space, the financial, banking and investment sectors, in the humanitarian and educational sphere, as well as in the field of interregional cooperation.

Important areas of Russian-Emirate cooperation are investment cooperation through the RDIF and the Emirate's Mubadala Fund, issues of supplying Russian products to the Emirate market and improving the regulatory framework, including in the field of industry. Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation between the UAE, the North Caucasian Federal District and the Republic of Tatarstan in terms of attracting investment and creating joint projects in the Russian regions.

Together with the Emirate’s colleagues, it is also necessary to work out new promising areas of cooperation between Russia and the UAE, as well as to identify problems holding back the steady growth of bilateral trade.

In addition, on the sidelines of the seventh meeting of the Commission, it is planned to hold a business forum "Russia - the United Arab Emirates: Prospects for Trade and Economic Cooperation", in which specialized panel sessions are planned and negotiations and discussion of joint projects of Russian and Emirate companies will be organized. The forum is organized by the Russian Export Center.
