Swarovski: tiger and river Ganges

How will the Swarovski crystal tiger help the Ganges River? The Austrian company Swarovski, specializing in the production of crystal jewelry, has always paid particular attention to environmental issues since its founding in 1895. This was expressed in various ways, including the creation of a unique trilogy of crystal figurines of animals that are threatened with extinction.

This trilogy titled “Endangered Wildlife” (Endangered Wildlife) ends this year with a series of figurines dedicated to the tiger. The figure of this strong and dangerous animal will be made of faceted crystal of an unusual golden hue. The trilogy began with the beautifully executed panda and gorilla figurines released by Swarovski in 2007 and 2008. respectively. All trilogy figures are collectibles.

The design of the figurine "Tiger", the patron saint of 2010 on the eastern calendar, was developed by the artist Elizabeth Adamer. When creating the figurine, such materials were used as golden shining crystal for the body of the tiger, "satin" crystal for stripes and "smoky" crystal for the eyes.

By tradition, Swarovski will create exclusive tiger figurines for hundreds of thousands of members of the Swarovski Crystal Community.

This action is intended not only to draw the attention of the general public to the fate of endangered species of animals. The proceeds from it will be directed to a special educational program for children “Swarovski Water School” for the conservation of water resources of the great Ganges River and, especially, the Keoladeo National Park in India.
