Flydubai launches 4 flights per week to Sylhet

Dubai-based Flydubai launches 4 flights per week to Sylhet (Bangladesh).

Dubai, UAE. Dubai-based Flydubai announces the launch of flights to Sylhet, which will be the third carrier destination in Bangladesh after Chittagong and Dhaka. Flydubai begins operating flights between Dubai and Sylhet from March 16, 2017.

Air traffic with Sylhet, also known as Jalalabad, will be launched at a frequency of 4 flights per week. Starting May 16, it is planned to increase the frequency of flights up to six times a week. Flydubai will operate flights to Osmani International Airport in partnership with Regent Airways, Bangladesh.

Commenting on the opening of the new route, Flydubai’s Executive Director Gate Al Gate said: “We are pleased to resume flights to Sylhet, an important cultural and shopping center in Bangladesh. Our company remains committed to the development of air connections with cities that previously lacked direct flights to the UAE. We hope that passengers reliable and affordable flights between Dubai and the cities of our growing route network in Bangladesh will appreciate. ”

Flydubai has an extensive route network in the Indian subcontinent. It includes eight cities in India, five in Pakistan, three in Bangladesh, two in Sri Lanka, as well as the capital of Afghanistan and Nepal - Kabul and Kathmandu.

“Since the opening of flights to Dhaka and Chittagong in early 2011, we have seen a high demand for flights among Bangladeshi residents,” said Sudir Sridaran, senior vice president of commercial operations at Flydubai in the Gulf countries, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. "We are confident that the launch of direct flights will allow passengers from Sylhet to travel to and from Dubai through the Dubai air hub, primarily through the developed network of Flydubai routes in the Gulf countries. Today it includes 18 destinations with 650 flights weekly."

Taking into account flights to Batumi (Georgia), Gabala (Azerbaijan) and Tivat (Montenegro), which were announced in February this year, Flydubai expanded its route network to 93 destinations in 44 countries. Now the airline operates flights on 62 routes that previously did not have or lacked direct air links with the UAE.

Tickets can be purchased on the airline’s official website (Flydubai.com), by calling the contact center in Dubai (+971 600 54 44 45), through sales centers and travel partners.

Flydubai will operate flights between Sylhet and Dubai 4 times a week starting March 15, 2017. Flight FZ 595/596 will be operated between Dubai International Airport (Terminal 2) and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.

The cost of the return fare (round-trip) for flights from Dubai to Sylhet starts from AED 1,500, including up to 7 kg of hand luggage. The business class fare starts from AED 2,700, including 40 kg of checked baggage. The return fare (round-trip) for flights from Sylhet to Dubai starts at US $ 550, including 7 kg of hand luggage. Business class fares start at US $ 900, including 40 kg of checked baggage.
