Six new hotels to appear in Abu Dhabi in 2011

The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Investment Development Company (TDIC) is planning to open in 2011, together with its partners, six new iconic hotels in the UAE capital, which will add 1,600 new rooms to the emirate's hotel registry. In particular, the brand St. Regis will open its first St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort on Saadiyat Island; Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi, a joint venture between TDIC and Al Farida Investments Company LLC, will open the first Rocco Forte Collection branded hotel in the Middle East. In the city of Abu Dhabi, the Westin Hotel & Spa Abu Dhabi and Eastern Mangroves Angsana Resort & Spa will also be opened.

In the western region of the capital's emirate, on the protected island of Sir Bani Yas, TDIC will launch two complexes - Al Sahel Lodge and Al Yamm Lodge. Each of the new hotels will offer its guests a unique experience of relaxation and comfort. It is expected that the new 1,100 hotel rooms, 500 branded hotel residences, and a total of 24 thousand rooms throughout the emirate, will attract more than 2.3 million tourists by 2012.

Over the past three years, TDIC and its partners have opened six new hotels in the capital of the emirate - Qasr Al Sarab and Desert Islands Resort & Spa in the western region, and Shangri-La Hotel, Traders Hotel, Park Rotana and Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi .
