Leading World Players Take Part in Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

The annual international open tennis championships Dubai Duty Free, which includes women's and men's tournaments, presented the leading players in the world ranking from February 14 to 26, 2011 on the courts of the Dubai Aviation Club. The competition was attended by 7 of the 10 leading players of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), as well as 3 of the 5 leading players of the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP).

With such an incredible roster of world-famous tennis stars, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships have become one of the long-awaited sporting events of the season for Dubai and international audiences. It was wonderful to welcome again to Dubai Novak Djokovic, who demonstrated his excellent form in Melbourne and won the Dubai tournaments in 2009 and 2010, as well as Mikhail Yuzhny and Nikolai Davydenko, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and many others.

The first racket of the world, Caroline Wozniacki, scored more victories in 2010 than any other player of the Women's Tennis Association. Among her rivals were famous Russian women - Svetlana Kuznetsova, Vera Zvonareva, Alisa Klebanova, Maria Sharapova and Maria Kirilenko, Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenko, athletes from Australia, Belgium, Slovakia, Poland and other countries.

The cup of the Dubai championship in 2011 in the men's tournament went to Novak Djokovic, in pairs the Russians and the South and Stakhovsky won. In the women's tournament, our Svetlana Kuznetsova and Karolin Wozniacki fought for the cup, the victory went to the Danish athlete who lives and trains in Monaco.
